Understanding your Carbon Footprint and the impact you are making with the choices you make everyday is monumental to sustainability and what we all can do to create a more greener earth.
We are addressing an information need within the broader community of sustainability education. When understanding climate change and the future of sustainability for all communities it can be quite complex weighing our impact on the planet. What is a carbon footprint? What impacts such a calculation? What can I do to prevent and protect our environment understanding the impact that I have currently? We live in a time of heightened digital devices and gadgets that also have a tremendous effect on our carbon footprint and we believe that this information is not transparent for all users and entities that choose to use such technologies. It is not common knowledge to understand that the carbon footprint of technology is measured in 1.7 billions tons due to the manufacturing and running of digital technologies. This means a single individual is responsible for 14 oz of carbon dioxide a year (BBC Future) We as University students know what it is like having to handle all of the world's issues, school, and your life, while the looming danger of climate change surrounds us. But with our quiz and resources we hope we can help alleviate the stress and clear the air, literally and figuratively.
